More Zambians to Blacksburg?

“‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door,
which no one is able to shut. I know that you have little power,
and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name."
Revelation 3:8

For some reason I think I should be trying to convince myself that all of these things are not really happening, but I`m not. It is beyond words the hand of the Lord that MORE Zambians are coming to Blacksburg. I mean, it`s Blacksburg. Of all the places for missionaries or medical professionals to be coming, why here? I don`t know the answers, but I am in awe that all these connections continue to happen and that the Lord hasn`t ceased to open doors between myself and Zambia.
A man from my church who is a professor of public health at Tech is bringing in 14 students, 7 from Zambia, and 7 from Malawi, to study under him for 3 weeks in April/May. I am so excited! I have no idea what to expect but I hope to be able to spend a good amount of time with them and do some fun things with them around Blacksburg. They are working with Global Health Professionals combined with World Vision. They are all students from different academic areas, and will all be learning how to use their gifts accordingly. I am excited to meet them and serve them and see how God continues to open more/new doors into the future and his bigger plan for all of these things.
Ultimately I am praying and seeking that I would be able to witness to these students, and love them in a way that radiates Jesus to them. I hope that I can learn about each of them and their passions and desires and help them to see where God might be planning to take them after their studies.
I am ready to run through the door the Lord will open next....

Go?

"It is a safe thing to trust Him to fulfill the desires which He creates"
-Amy Carmichael

So today the phone rang and I was able to hear the voice of my dear friend and brother in Christ, JA!   JA is leading the GO Team this year back to Lusaka, Zambia with CURE. He knows most of who else will be going on the team now too, with only a few spots to fill. Of course he called to ask once again, will I be going back? My heart leaps at the thought of it. I am still missing Zambia. Still missing those people. Still praying for their salvation, for physical and spiritual healing to ignite that place.

I have no idea what God is calling me to in regards to Zambia but I am praying and asking for his guidance and call over my life to be revealed. And maybe Zambia is a small stepping stone to the larger path. I will decide within the week and will write again with an update. I am excited for all God has in store for the trip and team, whether or not I am physically a part of it.

Cry of my heart

God do a work in Zambia that people won`t even believe when told (Acts 13:41)

"Jesus Christ come and reign over the people and hearts and souls of Zambia. Jesus bring your healing and restoration to each and every soul. Let your name be heard among all ears, deaf and open alike. Let your name be made famous in the lives of believers all over that country. In every bush. In every city. Along the dirt roads. In and through the land you have created for them to dwell. God you are the God of each and every life you created. God you long for each of these people to know you personally and intimately. May it be so by your power and grace over us. Lord overwhelm Melody and her family with the comfort and riches of your love! Let it fill them up and overflow out of their lives into the lives of others all around them. God make Cure strong and bless the fruits of their labor. Let them be the hands and feet of the spiritual healing you long for throughout Zambia. May all and every work be done to bring you glory. Be made famous through us, through our weakness."

New News...JA is leading the trip to Zambia this summer! He will be an incredible leader, and his faith and trust in God will bring beautiful things to the vision and mission of the GO Team. I am incredibly excited to see all that God does in and through him, through the other team members and all those in Zambia who will hear the name of Jesus! I know His plans are incomprehensible to us all, even me, after being there once. He never ceases to amaze us. He never ceases to work intricately and awe inspiringly.
And so the door swings open. I am praying through the process of possibly joining the GO Team this summer as well. But there is much time and prayer to happen before. For now I am filling my desire to go with heart crying prayers lifted up for those people, for those I love so dearly, even those I don`t know. I desire more than anything that they would know and seek Christ on their knees and face, desperate for more of him. I pray their souls will be consumed with longing for him at all times!

Lord may your will be done in my life and in this world...
