Newest News

My newest news/request is if ANYONE has an old reading glasses or eye glasses that you would like to donate to the Hospital in Lusaka please let me know...anytime before our trip. I can take any an all donations I can get. Second if anyone would like to donate new toothbrushes or toothpaste that would be much appreciated because we will be teaching the children in the village about dental care this summer.

P.S. There is still no date for a car wash. My friend and I are trying to combine and do a joint wash because we only got about 5 or 6 people who could help...but I will let you know when I have details!

Update

As of today, May 16th, I only have $600 left to go! I am so thankful for each one of your hearts that God has tugged on and encouraged to give towards my trip. There is no way I would be going without each of your loving support and prayers! As each day passes I am literally growing more and more excited about going to Zambia and all that God is preparing for us even now. One small thing our team is planning now is some songs we can sing together as a group...Zambians LOVE singing and dance! I cannot wait to worship with them.
A Moe`s night at Tech did not work out because they were booked until May 30th because of Relay for Life. However I am not in the midst of planning a few car washes and hoping once I get a team together to do a few throughout the end of May and into July. More details TBA once I have a team in place. Thank you, each of you, for your continued love, support, and prayers! I covet your partnership with my team and I as we prepare to be sent by God to Zambia in July.
Joshua 21:45
Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made have failed; all came to pass.

Praying yet again

Everyday as I think about Zambia and what to expect the Lord is reminding me to pray, pray, pray. While I was at Urbana over Christmas break one of the speakers exhorted us to truly learn what it means to pray through the scripture. He explained how as he saw situations and circumstances happening in his life and the lives of others God gave him scripture to pray through them. Ever since that message I have been practicing how to pray through scripture and it has blessed my life in so many ways. I was so blessed by the Holy Spirit in leading me to Acts 13 as a way to pray for Zambia, by looking at how God prepared Paul and Barnabas to go. Read chapter 13 of Acts and pray along with me through the scriptures. There are so many things to pray for but these requests have been specifically on my heart. Pray with me that:

1. We surround ourselves with hearts of fasting and prayer in community (Acts 13:3)

2. We are sent out in the Holy Spirit (Acts 13:4)

3. God prepares us in the word to proclaim the gospel (Acts 13:5)

4. God provides “Sergius`” in Zambia to hear the word and believe! (Acts 13:7-12)

5. God protects us from evil and distractions (Acts 13:10)

6. God gives us the strength and endurance to stand for him (Acts 13:16)

7. God does a work in Zambia that you won`t even believe when told (Acts 13:41)

Come, SEE

I am thankful each new day how God is challenging me to place my trust and hope in his providence every day. Little by little he is providing for me and for my entire team. I have decided against doing a Moe’s night at VT because they are booked until late May. So I am sticking to handing out M&Ms while I am here and then kicking off fundraising once I am back in STL. THANK YOU each of you who have taken the time to fill M&M containers for my trip. I am so blessed by each one of you who have helped provide my way to Zambia. THANK YOU to each of you who I know are praying for my trip, team members, and me.
Yesterday our team had our very first conference call. It was wonderful to hear each voice on the phone and to be able to pray together in the name and for the glory of Christ. We found out lots of new and specific information about the trip and every bit of news made me more and more excited to go. We heard more about Harold and Charity whom we will be working with most of the time there in the CURE hospital and in the fieldwork. And able to pray for them as well by name. That God will go before each of us here and prepare their hands to heal and their hearts to serve in the love and strength of Christ. We also found out that our cost for visas and the recreation day in Zimbabwe were not included in our total costs so my overall goal has gone up $360. Right now I am 65% of the way towards my goal with $2900!! Literally everyday I am blown away with the hearts God calls to give and all the love and support I, and many others going on summer missions, are receiving. It is such a blessing to see his kingdom coming together for his global cause. I have 3 days of classes left, and 3 finals, and then I will be heading to STL! And fundraising will get off the ground. I will keep you updated.
Thank you again!

The Lord your God who goes before you will himself fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes and in the wilderness where you have seen how the Lord your God carried you all the way until you came to this place. Deuteronomy 1:3-32

Remember the great trials that your eyes saw, the sings, the wonders, the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, by which the Lord your God brought you out. The Lord your God is in your midst, a great and awesome God!! Deuteronomy 7:19, 21
